I hope everyone is enjoying the milder weather that comes with the turning of the seasons. We've gone from 110°F to a nice, crisp 90°F. This Fall, the club is gearing up for a series of fun meetings and guest speakers. Including but not limited to a Loteria night, a book sale, and a costume contest.
I hope you continue to join us and support our club. Through the turn of the seasons.
Your president,
Fernando Valdes

Abroad in England
This is Cesilia, the Treasurer/Secretary for History Club/Phi Alpha Theta. I am absent from campus this semester because I am studying History Abroad. I wanted to write about my experiences here and open it up to anyone considering studying abroad in England. I am enrolled in three classes at St. Mary’s University, which is just a 45-minute train ride to the center of London. As of the publication of this letter, I will have begun my first week of classes, but I have been here for an entire week already. St. Mary’s University provides a week of welcoming activities and events for many different types of people. There is club night access, plant pot painting, comedy night, and many more opportunities to meet people. Even in the short week I have been here, I have been to Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, and Hampton Court Palace, which cost money to enter but are about $24 USD for advanced booking and $27 USD approximately. Look online for tickets, especially for weekend availability, because it might be busy on certain days; Weekdays sometimes have discounted rates. I have also been to the National Archives and the British Museum, which are 100% free but accept donations if you want to donate. This is just an introduction, but feel free to email me at cesiliacgarcia@arizona.edu if you have any questions about England, St. Mary’s University, or studying abroad I will try to answer to the best ability, or if you have an experience you would like to share, please let me know as well.
